The Karachi Journalists Iftar Dinner at the Press Club brought together media workers and prominent figures, fostering unity and networking during Ramadan.
KARACHI – The Karachi Union of Journalists (DUJ) Dastoor recently hosted its much-anticipated annual Iftar dinner, bringing together journalists, media workers, and notable figures from across the city. The event, held at the iconic Karachi Press Club, was a resounding success, fostering camaraderie and strengthening bonds within the Karachi media community.
The traditional Iftar dinner, a highlight on the Karachi journalists‘ calendar, saw a diverse gathering of attendees. From veteran journalists like Mazhar Abbas and GM Jamali to rising stars in the media industry, the event was a melting pot of experience and enthusiasm.

The Karachi Press Club buzzed with activity as prominent figures graced the occasion. Arts Council President Ahmed Shah, Karachi Press Club President Fazil Jamili, and Secretary Sohail Afzal were among the esteemed guests. Former President Saeed Sarbazi and former Secretary Muhammad Rizwan Bhatti, Aamir Latif, Arman Sabir and AH Khanzada, also joined the gathering.
The event wasn’t limited to journalism circles. Leaders from the Young Doctors Association, alongside key corporate figures, added to the diverse mix. Representatives from leading financial institutions, including Farhan Ahmed from HBL, Farah Asim from Faisal Bank, Talha Haider from Bank Alfalah, Ridwan Ahmed from JS Bank, and Adil Murtaza from National Bank, were present.
The energy sector was represented by Rana Imran and Bilal Memon from K-Electric, while Nazir Virani from Karim, Munibah from Philip Morris, Abdul Sattar from Karachi Chamber, and Abdul Samad Badhani from the Drugs and Chemists Association, and ABAD chairman Hasan Bukhshi also participated.
A significant number of KUJ Dastoor members, including a strong presence of female journalists, attended the Iftar, highlighting the inclusive nature of the organization.
