Karachi Union of Journalists (Dastoor) hosted a special Iftar dinner at Karachi Press Club, bringing together senior journalists and media professionals. KUJ leaders announced committees for the upcoming traditional journalists’ gathering.
KARACHI: The Karachi Union of Journalists (Dastoor) organized a special Iftar dinner at Karachi Press Club on Wednesday to honor its volunteers, bringing together a large number of journalists and media professionals from across the city.
The event was attended by KUJ Dastoor President Nasrullah Chaudhry, Secretary Rehan Khan Chishti, Vice President Mansoor Ahmed, Treasurer Zain Ali, along with many members of the journalists’ body.
Prominent participants also included Karachi Press Club Secretary Aslam Khan, Treasurer Imran Ayub, Joint Secretary Farooq Sami, former Secretary Muhammad Rizwan Bhatti, Aamir Latif, former Joint Secretary Saqib Sagheer, Muhammad Munsif, and Khalil Nasir.
Committees Announced for Annual KUJ Iftar Event
During the gathering, KUJ leaders discussed arrangements for the traditional annual Iftar dinner of Karachi Union of Journalists (Dastoor), a major networking event for Pakistan’s journalist community.
Vice President Mansoor Ahmed announced the formation of several committees to organize the upcoming event efficiently.
The Administrative Committee will be headed by Farooq Sami, with members including Nasrullah Chaudhry, Rehan Khan Chishti, Shafqat Bhatti, Rizwan Bhatti, Shoaib Khan, Atta ur Rehman, A Mohsin, Wakeel ur Rehman, Rashid Khan and Matloob Baig.
The Food Committee will be led by Zain Ali, while members include Athar Farooqi, Rizwan Bhatti, Azam Khan, Kafeel Ahmed and Kafeeluddin Faizan.
The Press and Publicity Committee will be headed by Azfar Waqas Abbasi, with Munir Aqeel Ansari and Adil Sultan as members.
The Security Committee will be led by Saqib Sagheer, with members including Ubaid Shah, Shah Mir Khan, Kashif Hashmi, Arif Habib, Moones Siraj, Aurangzeb Jabbar, Shahzaib and Salman Lodhi.
The Reception Committee will be headed by Mansoor Ahmed, while members include Aamir Latif, Aslam Khan, Khalil Nasir, Maqsood Yousufi, Muzaffar Ejaz, A.H. Khanzada, Tariq Abul Hasan, Sohail Afzal, Ehtesham Saeed, Riaz Sagar, Hanif Akbar and Nabeel Akhtar.
Meanwhile, the Women’s Committee will be headed by Khadija Rathore, with members including Anam Razzaq, Fahmida Yousufi, Arshi, Bushra Khalid, Sana Ghori, Shazia Waqas, Sheema Siddiqui, Mona Siddiqui and Kulsoom Jahan.
Journalists Express Optimism
Participants at the event expressed optimism that the traditional KUJ Dastoor Iftar Dinner will once again be organized in a grand manner this year, continuing its legacy of bringing together the journalist community for networking, unity and professional collaboration.
